soft scientist, armchair mountaineer, cartoonist
My first 26 years of life were in Michigan. I studied environmental science and environmental economics at the University of Michigan and Michigan State University, respectively. I now live in Edmonton, on Treaty 6 Land, in Alberta with my partner and our dogs Pippa and Sukkha.
My day jobs have largely focused on working with scientists to build habitat restoration projects, complete environmental assessments, and create policy instruments to protect critical wildlife habitat. I currently work for a research consultancy that supports Indigenous governments in their participation in federal, provincial, and territorial regulatory processes. This has greatly influenced my worldview. After receiving a Certificate in Cartooning from the Center for Cartoon Studies in Vermont, I started my evening job of making comics.
